THE MEEB WAY

When I started working a MEEB in October of 2009, I realized very quickly that this was a different work environment than I was used to previously.  What became clear to me was that providing unparalleled service to the client was the first and foremost priority.  There was an unmistakable passion about the work we do and being a big part of the community association world in New England.  Attorneys worked late, were uncommonly responsive to clients, served on CAI-NE committees, donated time at CAI events and generally did whatever it took to get the job done, whatever that job happened to be.  I am proud to say that ethos remains the MEEB Way today.

Thinking back on my first weeks and months at MEEB I noticed that even the most senior partners at the firm were responding to clients at all hours of the day and night.  Unlike other lawyers who don’t even listen to voicemail, much less return calls, MEEB attorneys were trying to respond to client inquiries and requests as quickly as possible understanding that the client was in a pinch for time.  I remember thinking that if Richard Brooks was going return calls while on vacation or if Stephen Marcus was going to respond to emails at 3 o’clock in the morning, I ought to be doing the same.  If those guys are doing it, how could I not make myself available?  It’s the MEEB Way.  Then, today, always.

The MEEB Way isn’t about performing tasks for clients, it’s about providing important and valuable services to clients.  It’s not about pacifying client’s needs, it’s about doing whatever is necessary to protect clients’ interests and providing them with the best legal advice.  MEEB attorneys strive to go the extra mile for their clients.  Your interests are our interests.  We want what you want and set out to achieve your goals alongside of you.  When I go to sleep at night, I’m thinking about some of my more problematic cases and how to resolve them.  And I know my colleagues are doing the same thing.  The MEEB Way.

There is a lot of pressure involved in being available to your clients close to 24/7/365 but there is also great satisfaction in it as well.  MEEB attorneys want you to know that we’re here for you when you need us.  I learned by watching those that came before me that service to the client is the most important task each day.  If the red light is on my phone showing a voicemail, I’m pressing that button and getting back to the client as soon as I can. If an email comes through while I’m watching one of my shows at night, I’m responding to that email so the client doesn’t have to anxiously await a response until the next day.  (Note: The only exception is if Games of Thrones is on but I think you all can understand that.)Another thing I’ve learned over the past ten years is that there is a MEEB attorney who specializes in every type of issue that comes up in the condo context.  We have an expert who has already seen your issue, has thought about it and knows the best way to handle it.  This type of expertise is important for two very important reasons: 1) the ability to easily obtain great advice; 2) not having to pay an inexperienced attorney to research the issue for the first time before giving you advice.  The MEEB Way means affordable legal advice whenever you need it.

For 25 years and counting MEEB has put clients first and we’re going to do so for the next 25 and beyond.  For whatever your legal needs, we’re here for you night and day.  That is the MEEB Way.
