MEEB ANSWERING URGENT CALL - Thousands of Dogs at Risk of Euthanasia in Massachusetts
During the pandemic there were brief moments of joy depicted in the media when residents who had never owned a pet before grinned with happiness as they bonded with their newly adopted pets. For a while it seemed like everybody was getting a new “fur-baby”. As the lockdowns ended, work moved back to in-person, and inflation skyrocketed – the adoptions slowed.
Massachusetts is in crisis of losing many of its animals due to a lack of funding. Here is a link for a recent article regarding this important issue: MSPCA: 'Thousands' of dogs at risk of euthanasia in Massachusetts (wickedlocal.com)
Local Animal Shelters need families willing to adopt, foster, sponsor or volunteer. In response to the urgent call to save these animals, MEEB, in the spirit of giving and supporting local charities, will be donating money, supplies and time to the Quincy Animal Shelter this holiday season. If you cannot adopt or foster, there are many ways to show you care, including, sponsorship, volunteer or sending along a gift from a Shelter’s wish list.
For many owners, pets are companions, part of their family, bringing joy to all they meet, and MEEB cannot stand by, without doing our part, while thousands are at risk of losing their opportunity to be part of a family.
Think of donating or adopting from a local animal shelter this holiday season.
